The study deals with the origin of the Unionist Party, its policies, its politics, its moments of success, its failures as well as the commitment of its leaders to the colonial system and how their actions and programmes were influenced by the attitude of the British towards them. The author also shows how the passions unleashed in relation to the `agenda of Pakistan` reduced the party to irrelvance and insignificance leading to its disappearence from the political scene almost as dramatically as it had appeared.
